Posted on: April 27, 2010

Twitter is a great way to stay connected. In PR it is a valuable asset to have and use. Twitter provides a great way to stay in touch with the world. Social networking sites have helped make the world a lot smaller. So many people nowadays use twitter that it’s a really great site to get involved in. Many PR professionals are on Twitter and are constantly updating and “tweeting,” so to speak so it makes it a great place to stay up to date. It is also a great place to share your information and ideas and maybe get some good feedback on it.

Twitter is a great place to network and meet people. When you’re just starting out in the PR professional world, you’re going to need connections and Twitter is a good way to go about getting connected. So many people are an active part of the Twitter community that you can meet such a diverse array of people. It is a good place to meet other people in the profession that you are trying to break into, make friends and hopefully get some advice on how and where to start off your career.

Twitter is such a valuable PR connection these days, but keep in mind that it is not the only place online for connections and networking. Keep an open mind and be willing to try new things. Search online for other social networking websites such as Twitter, Facebook and Myspace.  Sign up and make sure to check and update regularly so that your followers don’t get bored and forget about you.
